宮崎郡（みやざきぐん）は、宮崎県（日向国）にあった郡。
郡域
律令制下から江戸期まで

日向国成立当初の宮崎郡は現在の 日南市・串間市の全域（旧南那珂郡域）をも含んでおり、この当時の那珂郡はほぼ旧北那珂郡の地域に相当する非常に狭いエリアであったが、江戸時代までに現在の区域となった。
明治以降

1879年（明治12年）に行政区画として発足した当時の郡域は、以下の区域にあたる。

宮崎市の大部分（概ね佐土原町西上那珂、佐土原町東上那珂、広原、新名爪、芳士、阿波岐原町、山崎町、吉村町、新城町、宮脇町、昭和町、浄土江町、堀川町、瀬頭、松山、城ヶ崎、恒久、月見ヶ丘、本郷北方、郡司分、熊野、学園木花台西、鏡洲以東および田野町の一部・高岡町各町・有田・糸原・吉野を除く[1]）

歴史
古代

『続日本紀（797年完成）』神護景雲二年（768年）九月条に、宮埼郡の人、大伴人益が白い尾をもつ青馬を献じ大瑞だとして賞され庸調を免除されたことがみえている。

『和名類聚抄（938年完成）』によると、郡は四つの郷から構成されており、飫肥郷、田辺郷、島江郷、江田郷が記載されている。

慶応4年

閏4月25日（1868年6月15日） - 幕府領が富高県の管轄となる。

8月17日（1868年10月2日） - 富高県の管轄区域が日田県の管轄となる。


明治3年（1870年） - 旗本領が日田県の管轄となる。

明治4年

2月 - 領知替えにより、日田県の管轄地域が延岡藩領となる。

7月14日（1871年8月29日） - 廃藩置県により、飫肥県、延岡県の管轄となる。

11月14日（1871年12月25日） - 第1次府県統合により、大淀川以北（上野町・江平町・松山町・下北方村・名田村・上北方村・池内村・南方村・花ヶ島町・村角村・大島村・上別府村・堤内村・金崎村・瓜生野村・宮王丸村）が美々津県、残部が都城県の管轄となる。


明治6年（1873年）1月15日 - 全域が宮崎県（第1次）の管轄となる。

明治初年 - 西細江村・東細江村が合併して細江村となる。（3町29村）

明治5年（1872年） - 瓜生野村の一部が分立して大瀬町村・柏田町となる。（4町30村）

明治7年（1874年） - 名田村が下北方村に合併[4]。（4町29村）

明治8年（1875年） - 上別府村の一部が分立して川原町となる。（5町29村）

明治9年（1876年）8月21日 - 第2次府県統合により鹿児島県の管轄となる。

明治12年（1879年）2月17日 - 郡区町村編制法の鹿児島県での施行により、行政区画としての宮崎郡が発足。「宮崎那珂郡役所」が上別府村に設置され、那珂郡とともに管轄。

明治14年（1881年）7月28日 - 「宮崎那珂郡役所」が「宮崎那珂児湯郡役所」となり、児湯郡とともに管轄。

明治16年（1883年）5月9日 - 宮崎県（第2次）の管轄となる。

明治17年（1884年）

1月26日 - 「宮崎那珂児湯郡役所」が「宮崎北那珂郡役所」となり、北那珂郡とともに管轄。

太田村の一部が分立して中村町・福島町となる。（7町29村）
