宮古島市（みやこじまし）は、宮古列島に位置する沖縄県の市である。
地理宮古島市街（旧平良市街）
宮古列島の宮古島、池間島、大神島、来間島、伊良部島、下地島からなる。宮古島と池間島は池間大橋、宮古島と来間島は来間大橋、宮古島と伊良部島は伊良部大橋、伊良部島と下地島は6本の橋によって結ばれている。人口は沖縄県内の市町村で第9位。
現在の市域には、かつて平良市及び宮古郡伊良部町・上野村・城辺町・下地町の5市町村が存在したが、2005年（平成17年）10月1日に合併（新設合併）して宮古島市が誕生した。
