天空橋駅（てんくうばしえき）は、東京都大田区羽田空港一丁目にある、京浜急行電鉄・東京モノレールの駅である。駅名は近くの海老取川に架かる同名の人道橋に由来している。

歴史

京急・東京モノレールともに、かつて周辺に前身となった駅が存在しており、東京国際空港（羽田空港）の沖合展開事業に伴う路線延伸に合わせ、それらを事実上移転する形で当駅が設置された。ただし手続き上はいずれも移転ではなく、前身の駅を廃止した上で当駅を新設開業した形となっている。

当駅および前身となった駅は長年、京急としては羽田空港の最寄り駅で空港ターミナルへのアクセス駅と設定されながら、それが有効に機能しなかった歴史を持つ。

当駅の前身である「羽田空港駅」は1956年に開設され（それまでの経緯は「京急空港線#歴史」を参照）、現在の天空橋駅より約200メートル京急蒲田駅方向、海老取川の対岸付近の大田区羽田五丁目（.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct,.mw-parser-output .geo-inline-hidden{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}北緯35度32分57.5秒 東経139度45分7秒 / 北緯35.549306度 東経139.75194度 / 35.549306; 139.75194 (京急 旧・羽田空港駅)）に位置する地上駅であり、東京国際空港が沖合に移転する以前の旧空港ターミナルへのアクセス駅となっていた。だが実態は「地理に不案内な乗客が駅名を頼りに降り立って、川を隔てて遥か彼方の羽田空港を眺めて茫然とする」[1]というものであり、加えて当時の空港線がほぼ終日京急蒲田 - 羽田空港間折り返しの普通列車のみというダイヤで、空港アクセスには全くといっていいほど役に立たなかった。一時は羽田空港駅から旧空港ターミナルへの連絡バスが設定・運行されていた時期もあった[2]が、それも利用者が付かずに短期間で廃止され、以降は徒歩またはタクシーでのアクセスに頼ることとなる。その後1980年代に入り、羽田空港の沖合移転計画が具体化した頃から、狭小な駅前広場に入れるマイクロバス（空港関係者の通勤・帰宅の多い朝晩は中型バス）により再開され、昼間は1時間に1本の割合で運行された。

羽田空港の沖合移転に伴う空港アクセス路線確保の一環として、1991年1月16日に穴守稲荷 - 羽田空港間の営業をいったん休止の上、1993年4月1日に再度空港島に乗り入れ現在の位置に「羽田駅」を新設、同時に旧・羽田空港駅を正式に廃止した[3]。また、旧・羽田空港駅周辺住民の利便を図って海老取川に架けられた人道橋は、地元からの公募で「天空橋」と名付けられ、同日に開通した[3]。なお、旧・羽田空港駅の跡地は駐車場とされた。

それ以前に比べると、空港アクセスの手段としての利便性が増した。しかし、もともとが東京モノレールへの乗換えによる空港アクセスを前提とした、新ターミナルビル「ビッグバード」直下乗り入れまでの暫定アクセス駅という扱いであり、旧空港ターミナルへは循環バス、「ビッグバード」開業後は東京モノレールにそれぞれ乗り換えることを余儀なくされた。1998年に羽田空港駅（現・羽田空港第1・第2ターミナル駅）が開業すると同駅に空港アクセス駅としての役割を譲り現行の「天空橋駅」に改称した。

なお、当駅が設置される前の仮称駅名は「羽田空港口駅」であった[4][5]。
沿革

1956年（昭和31年）4月20日 - 稲荷橋駅を穴守稲荷駅に改称するとともに、休止区間のうち穴守稲荷駅 - 羽田空港駅を復活させ、これに伴い穴守線羽田空港駅（はねだくうこうえき）が開業。

1963年（昭和38年）11月1日 - 路線名が穴守線から空港線に改称され[6]、空港線羽田空港駅となる。

1985年（昭和60年）6月18日 - 羽田空港駅 - 羽田空港口駅（仮称）間の延伸免許を申請（同年7月24日認可）[4]。

1988年（昭和63年）9月26日 - 羽田空港駅 - 羽田空港口駅間の延伸工事に着工[7]。

1991年（平成3年）1月16日 - 延伸工事に伴い、穴守稲荷駅 - 羽田空港駅の営業を休止[7]。

1993年（平成5年）

4月1日 - 羽田空港駅を廃止。延伸工事の完成に伴い、現在地に羽田駅（はねだえき）を新設[3]。

9月27日 - 東京モノレール羽田線（現東京モノレール羽田空港線）の移設に伴い、同線と連絡業務を開始。


1998年（平成10年）11月18日 - 空港線の羽田空港駅（現羽田空港第1・第2ターミナル駅）開業に伴い、誤解を防ぐため天空橋駅に改称[8][9]。

2007年（平成19年）3月18日 - ICカード「PASMO」の利用が可能となる。

2010年（平成22年）5月16日 - ダイヤ改正が実施され、エアポート急行の停車駅となる[10]。

2020年（令和2年）

6月25日 - 副駅名に「羽田イノベーションシティ」が追加[11]。

7月3日 - HICity口が供用開始[11]。
