大村市（おおむらし）は、長崎県において諫早市と共に県央とされる市。長崎空港があることから、長崎県の空の玄関口としての面も併せ持つ。
概要商店街（大村中央商店街）長崎空港
人口は9万人と中規模ではあるが着実に人口が増加している（1970年から50年近く連続で人口増）。
県央地区に位置しており、諫早市・長崎市・佐世保市へのアクセスも良くベッドタウンとしての一面を持つ。現在もその傾向は強く、新興住宅地や中規模マンションの開発が行われている。
交通の便はJR（西九州新幹線・大村線）・バス・航空（長崎空港）・船舶・高速道路（大村IC・木場スマートIC）等がある。近年では、長崎県交通局（県営バス）が運営する高速シャトルバスや空港バス（長崎空港リムジンバス）の運行により長崎市内へのアクセスが整備された。
以前より企業・大学誘致に力を注いでいる。商業については郊外に大型店舗等の進出が多く、2013年（平成25年）には核店舗であった大村浜屋が閉店するなど[1]、昔ながらの商店街は苦戦しているものの中央部は大型マンション、郊外では新興住宅地の開発が進んでいる。土地が平坦なためか、自転車の利用も非常に多い。
財政では大村競艇場の売上が増加している影響もあり[注 1][2]、市への繰入れ金額も増加している。
