壱岐市（いきし）は、長崎県の壱岐島を主な行政区域とする市である。壱岐振興局の所在地。
地理壱岐市勝本町郷ノ浦港市役所が所在する旧郷ノ浦町中心部周辺の空中写真。

位置

壱岐島は九州本土の福岡市から北西に約80km、佐賀県北端部の東松浦半島から北北西に約20kmの玄界灘上に位置する離島である。北西の海上に対馬が位置している。壱岐島の面積は133.82km2、南北17km、東西15km。有人島としては壱岐島の南西部の沖合いに原島と長島、大島が、北側の沖合いに若宮島の合計4島がある。また島周辺には19ヶ所の無人島がある。これらをまとめて壱岐（壱岐諸島）と呼ぶ。

市域全域が壱岐対馬国定公園に指定されている。

気候

対馬と同様、暖流である対馬海流の影響を受けており比較的温暖な気候で、季節を問わず比較的湿度が高い。春先に吹く南寄りの強風を春一番と呼ぶが、元々は壱岐市の漁師達が呼んでいた物が気象用語となった。
