坊ノ岬沖海戦（ぼうのみさきおきかいせん、.mw-parser-output .lang-ja-serif{font-family:YuMincho,"Yu Mincho","ヒラギノ明朝","Noto Serif JP","Noto Sans CJK JP",serif}.mw-parser-output .lang-ja-sans{font-family:YuGothic,"Yu Gothic","ヒラギノ角ゴ","Noto Sans CJK JP",sans-serif}旧字体：坊ノ岬沖海󠄀戰）は、1945年（昭和20年）4月7日に沖縄へ海上特攻隊として向かった戦艦大和とその護衛艦艇をアメリカ海軍の空母艦載機部隊が攻撃した戦闘[2]。日本海軍が発動した天一号作戦の一環として第一遊撃部隊（第二艦隊のうち、第一航空戦隊の戦艦大和と第二水雷戦隊の軽巡洋艦1隻・駆逐艦8隻からなる）は沖縄方面に出撃、アメリカ海軍第58任務部隊がそれを迎撃した。午後12時40分から約二時間におよぶ戦闘の結果[3]、大和以下6隻が沈没[注 1]。日本海軍の大型水上艦による最後の攻撃となった。

太平洋戦争末期の戦闘にもかかわらず、長らく艦載機が撮影した写真（静止画像）しか知られていなかったが、2021年になって、艦載機が撮影した駆逐艦（冬月と浜風）の動画映像が発見された[4]。
経過
水上艦艇による突入案

戦艦を座礁させて砲台として用いるという発想は、1943年（昭和18年）12月中旬の時点で大本営海軍部（軍令部）と連合艦隊（司令長官古賀峯一海軍大将、参謀長福留繁海軍中将）の間で俎上にのっていた[注 2]。

1944年（昭和19年）2月頃より、日本海軍では東条英機内閣と嶋田繁太郎海軍大臣の更迭（倒閣運動）および終戦工作への動きが本格的にはじまっていた[6]。海軍側では、岡田啓介海軍大将（二・二六事件当時の内閣総理大臣）が積極的に動いていた[7]。
