『リボルバー』（Revolver）は、イギリスにおいて1966年8月5日に発売されたビートルズの7作目のイギリス盤公式オリジナル・アルバムである。次作の『サージェント・ペパーズ・ロンリー・ハーツ・クラブ・バンド』と共に、サイケデリックなアルバムと評されることが多い。

録音は、1966年4月6日[4]から6月21日[5]にかけて行われた。また、初めてジョージ・ハリスンの自作曲が3曲収録されたように[注釈 1]、作曲家としてのハリスンの成長もうかがえるアルバムでもある。一方で、当時の技術的限界により公演では再現できない楽曲も多く収録されている。実際に『リボルバー』の収録曲がビートルズの公演で演奏されることはなかった。従って、ライヴ・バンドからレコーディング・バンドへと彼らが変化した過渡期の作品と言える。またひとつの音源を微妙にずらして重ねるArtificial Double Tracking(=ADT)という技術が初めて導入された、ロック史の中でも重要な作品でもある。『ローリング・ストーンの選ぶオールタイム・ベストアルバム500』(2020年版)では11位にランクされている[6]。また、英レコードコレクター誌による100 Greatest Psychedelic Recordsのイギリスチャートでは1位の評価がなされている[7]。

全英、全米ともにチャートの1位を獲得。

英モノラル初盤は「トゥモロー・ネバー・ノウズ」のみ通常盤とは別ミキシング・ヴァージョンが使われていた。
背景・制作

1965年12月3日から12日まで、アルバム『ラバー・ソウル』とシングル『恋を抱きしめよう/デイ・トリッパー』の発売に合わせたイギリスツアーが行われた。
