パシフィック・リーグ（英: Pacific League）は、日本のプロ野球リーグのひとつ。

概要

日本におけるプロ野球リーグの一つで、オリックス・バファローズ、福岡ソフトバンクホークス、埼玉西武ライオンズ、北海道日本ハムファイターズ、千葉ロッテマリーンズ、東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルスの6球団から構成されている。

親会社はソフトバンクグループや楽天グループを筆頭に売上高1兆円越えの巨大企業が名を連ねている。また、ドーム球場を本拠地にしている球団が多い。

セントラル・リーグとは異なり、パ・リーグでは指名打者制（DH制）を採用しており、8人の野手と指名打者及び投手のスタメンで構成されている。通常はセ・パ交流戦や日本シリーズ以外の試合で投手が打席に立つことはない。（ただし、投手が指名打者を兼任すればその限りではない。）

2023年（令和5年）にパーソルホールディングス株式会社とタイトルパートナー契約を締び、2023年シーズンのリーグ戦で「パーソル パシフィック・リーグ」の名称を使用する[1]。

1949年（昭和24年）11月26日に開かれた各球団の代表者会議で、新球団加盟の是非をめぐり日本野球連盟が分裂した。その日の午後1時には加盟賛成派の阪急ブレーブス（後のオリックス・バファローズ）、南海ホークス（後の福岡ソフトバンクホークス）、東急フライヤーズ（後の北海道日本ハムファイターズ）、大映スターズ（後の大映ユニオンズ）に新球団の毎日オリオンズ（後の千葉ロッテマリーンズ）、西鉄クリッパース（後の埼玉西武ライオンズ）、近鉄パールス（後の大阪近鉄バファローズ）も加わり、計7球団で太平洋野球連盟（たいへいようやきゅうれんめい）が発足し、結団式が行われた。閉幕まで3日を残した1949年シーズン末の事である[2]。初年度の1950年（昭和25年）は親会社のバックアップで戦力を充実させた毎日オリオンズが優勝し、日本シリーズでも松竹ロビンスを倒し日本一に輝いた。

当初参加を予定していた大阪タイガース（後の阪神タイガース）は看板カードの巨人戦を手放せないとして最終的に離脱、日本野球連盟に残留した[注 1]。こちらが現在のセントラル野球連盟、いわゆるセントラル・リーグ（セ・リーグ）である。
1950年代 黎明期

この時代は鶴岡一人監督率いる南海ホークスと三原脩監督率いる西鉄ライオンズの黄金時代で、両者の対決は「黄金カード」とまで呼ばれ、1959年（昭和34年）にはセ・リーグとの観客動員数が拮抗したこともあった。その一方、奇数球団による試合日程の不具合を避ける為、1954年（昭和29年）のシーズン開幕前には高橋ユニオンズ（翌1955年のみトンボユニオンズ）が加盟して8球団となった。同球団は1954年から1956年の3シーズンのみ参加し、1957年（昭和32年）2月に大映スターズと合併（大映ユニオンズ）し7球団となる。さらに、1957年シーズン終了後にはその大映ユニオンズと毎日オリオンズが合併（毎日大映オリオンズ）し6球団となり、以後は現在に至るまで6球団体制となっている。
