ネルソン伯爵（英語: Earl Nelson）は、連合王国貴族の伯爵位。
フランス革命戦争・ナポレオン戦争で活躍した海軍軍人ホレーショ・ネルソンが叙されたネルソン男爵位を前身とし、その兄で第2代ネルソン男爵を継承したウィリアム・ネルソン（英語版）が1805年に叙されたのに始まる。

海軍軍人ホレーショ・ネルソン白色艦隊中将（英語版）(1758?1805)は、1798年のアブキール湾の海戦に勝利してナポレオンのエジプト遠征に打撃を与えた功績で[1]、同年10月にグレートブリテン貴族爵位ナイルおよびノーフォーク州におけるバーナム・ソープのネルソン男爵（Baron Nelson, of the Nile, and of Burnham Thorpe in the County of Norfolk）に叙された[2]。また同年シチリア王国とナポリ王国(後の両シチリア王国)からブロンテ公爵位（イタリア語版）（Duca di Bronte）を与えられた[3]。
ついで1801年4月2日のコペンハーゲンの海戦でデンマーク艦隊を壊滅させた功績で[1]、同年5月22日に連合王国貴族爵位ナイルおよびノーフォーク州におけるバーナム・ソープのネルソン子爵（Viscount Nelson, of the Nile, and of Burnham Thorpe in the County of Norfolk）に叙された。また男子がないことを考慮され、同年8月18日には彼の男系男子についで彼の父と彼の姉妹スザンナとキャサリンへの特別継承を認めた連合王国貴族爵位ナイルおよびノーフォーク州におけるヒルバラのネルソン男爵（Baron Nelson, of the Nile and of Hillborough in the County of Norfolk）に叙された[3]。
ホレーショは1805年10月のトラファルガー海戦でフランス・スペイン連合軍に勝利するも戦死した[1]。男子のないままの戦死だったため、ネルソン子爵とナイル＝バーナム・ソープのネルソン男爵位は廃絶し、両シチリア王国の爵位ブロンテ公爵と特別継承規定があるナイルおよびヒルバラのネルソン男爵位のみホレーショの兄で国教会牧師のウィリアム・ネルソン（英語版）(1757?1835)に継承された[4]。さらにウィリアムは同年11月20日に連合王国貴族爵位トラファルガーおよびマートンのネルソン伯爵（Earl Nelson, of Trafalgar and Merton）とサリー州におけるトラファルガー＝マートンのマートン子爵（Viscount Merton, of Trafalgar and of Merton in the County of Surrey）に叙された。この両爵位は自身の男系男子に次いで姉妹のスザンナとキャサリンへの特別継承を認める規定が付けられていた[4][5]。
男子のないウィリアムの死後、ブロンテ公爵位はウィリアムの娘シャーロット(1787?1873)に継承された。一方ネルソン伯爵、マートン子爵、ナイル＝ヒルバラのネルソン男爵位は姉スザンナ(1755?1813)とトマス・ボルトン(1752?1834)の間の長男であるトマス・ネルソン(1786?1835)に継承された[5][6]。
以降2016年現在に至るまで彼の男系男子によって継承されている。2016年現在の当主は10代ネルソン伯爵サイモン・ネルソン(1971-)である[5][7]
一族と爵位にかかるモットーは、『相応しき者に椰子を与えよ(Palmam Qui Meruit Ferat)』。
