セダンの戦い（セダンのたたかい、独: Schlacht von Sedan、仏: Bataille de Sedan）は、普仏戦争（1870年-1871年）における戦闘の1つ。戦争の勃発から1ヶ月半あまりの1870年9月1日から2日にかけて行われ、フランス北東部のスダン（セダン）近郊においてヘルムート・フォン・モルトケ（大モルトケ）が指揮するプロイセン軍が、皇帝ナポレオン3世率いるフランス軍を破り、ナポレオン3世以下、10万人以上の敵将兵を捕虜にし、勝利した。この戦いによってプロイセンの戦争勝利はほぼ決定づけられたが、フランス側はナポレオン3世を廃位して臨時政府（国防政府（フランス語版、英語版））を樹立し、抵抗を続けたため、戦争は継続した。

戦争開始から間もない8月19日、フランソワ・アシル・バゼーヌ将軍率いるフランス主力軍の第1軍（ライン軍（英語版））は、プロイセンとの国境に近い都市・メスにて、プロイセン軍に包囲された（メス攻囲戦）。これを救援すべく、皇帝ナポレオン3世は、パトリス・ド・マクマオン将軍と共に新たに編成されたシャロン軍（英語版）を率いて、現地に向かうが、プロイセン第4軍に捕捉され、8月30日のボーモンの戦いで敗北した。シャロン軍は立て直すため、古い要塞があるセダンへ一時退却しようとしたが、そのまま追撃を受け、セダン近郊においてプロイセンの第3軍と第4軍に包囲された。
