ジン・トニック (Gin and Tonic) とは、ジンベースのカクテルである。 熱帯植民地に働くイギリス人達の健康飲料としてトニックウォーターが飲まれていたが、それをジンと混ぜたところ大変好評で、第二次世界大戦後に世界中に広まった。現在のスタンダードカクテルの一つ。 ライムの風味を強くしたい場合、ライムジュースを使うとよい。また、ジンとトニックウォーターの割合は、大体1:3くらいであるが、好みにより調整すること。 なお、上記のレシピは日本で見かけられるものの一例であり、本来のジン・トニックはジンをトニックウォーターで割ったものを指す。

ドライ・ジン - 適量
トニックウォーター - 適量
ライムカット又はスライス
作り方
氷を入れたグラスに、ジンを注ぐ。
よく冷やしたトニックウォーターでグラスを満たし、軽くステアする。
ライムスライスを飾る。
備考
なるべく発泡させずにつくるとよりおいしくできあがる。
バリエーション
ベースをウォッカにすると、「ウォッカ・トニック」となる。
ベースをテキーラにすると、「テキーラ・トニック」となる。なおテキーラ・トニックは、「テコニック」と呼ばれることもある[3]。
ベースはジンのままで、トニックウォーターをジンジャーエールに変えれば、「ドラゴンフライ」となる[4]。
アンゴスチュラ・ビターズを数dash加えると、「ピンク・ジン・トニック」。
