キンクス (英語: The Kinks) は、イギリスのロックバンド。1963年に、ロンドン北部のマスウェル・ヒルでレイとデイヴのデイヴィス兄弟によって結成され、1964年にデビューした。アメリカ合衆国ではブリティッシュ・インヴェイジョンのグループの一つとして分類され、当時のロック界に対して重要な影響を与えたバンドとして見なされる[2][4]。
音楽性にはブリティッシュ・インヴェイジョン、ロック・オペラ、ブリティッシュ・ビート、フォーク、カントリー等が含まれる。レイ・デイヴィス（リードヴォーカル、リズムギター）、デイヴ・デイヴィス（リードギター、ヴォーカル）は長いバンドの歴史における不動のメンバーだった。他のオリジナルメンバーはピート・クウェイフ（ベース、ヴォーカル）とミック・エイヴォリー（ドラムス、パーカッション）である。ジョン・ダルトンが1969年にクウェイフに代わって加入、ボブ・ヘンリットがエイヴォリーに代わって1984年に加入した。ダルトンは1978年に脱退、代わってジム・ロッドフォードが加入した。ニッキー・ホプキンスは1960年代中盤のスタジオセッションに参加している。後に様々なキーボード奏者が参加したが、その中ではジョン・ゴスリング、イアン・ギボンズがフルタイムメンバーとして参加した[2]。
キンクスの最初のヒット曲は1964年のサードシングル、レイ作曲の「ユー・リアリー・ガット・ミー」であった[4][5]。同曲は世界的なヒットとなり、イギリスではチャート1位、アメリカではトップ10を達成した[5][6]。1960年代中盤から70年代初頭にかけてグループは、商業的には成功したものの批判も受けた一連のシングルとアルバムをリリースした。それらの曲およびコンセプト・アルバムはイギリスの文化 (Culture of England) およびライフスタイルを強く反映し、レイの観察による作曲スタイルは評判が高まった[4]。『フェイス・トゥ・フェイス』、『サムシング・エルス』、『ヴィレッジ・グリーン』、『アーサー』、『ローラ対パワーマン』、『マスウェル・ヒルビリーズ』といったアルバム、及び一連のシングルは当時の最も影響力を持った作品群と考えられる[2][5][7]。キンクスのその後の演劇風コンセプト・アルバムは以前と比べ成功しなかったが、バンドは1970年代後半と1980年代初期の復活を経験した。なお、ヴァン・ヘイレン、ザ・ジャム、プリテンダーズなどのバンドがキンクスの曲をカヴァーししている。
