略歴
他のミニマル・ミュージックの作曲家と同じように、彼女も正規にニューヨーク大学でディヌ・ゲッツォ、アクマル・パルヴェツのような大家について正規に師事している。Genevieve Schecrounが実名だが、ElodieはステージネームでLautenは離婚した最初の夫の名字である。1970年代にパンク・ロックのグループで活動後、1980年代にミニマルに転向。以後20年にわたってアカデミックな業界の支持を得て活動した。主に舞踊や歌劇など音楽外要素を用いた作品に強かったが、室内楽の作曲も並行して続けていた。受賞も多かった。[3]
作品はLovely Music, Point/Polygram, 4-Tay, O.O. Discs, and New Toneから発売されていた。マンハッタンで癌のため63歳で死去。
