サー・エルトン・ハーキュリーズ・ジョン（Sir Elton Hercules John、CH CBE, 1947年3月25日 - ）は、イギリスのミュージシャン、シンガー・ソングライター。出生時の名前は、レジナルド・ケネス・ドワイト（Reginald Kenneth Dwight）。アメリカのビリー・ジョエルとともに、20世紀後半?21世紀前半、ピアノ・ロックというジャンルを確立した。

代表曲に「僕の歌は君の歌」「クロコダイル・ロック」「キャンドル・イン・ザ・ウィンド」「ダニエル」「ベニーとジェッツ」などがある。シングルとアルバムの総売り上げは2億5千万枚[2]から3億枚以上[3][4]とされており、これは「史上最も売れたアーティスト」で5位の記録とされる。

『グラミー賞』5回受賞（34回ノミネート）[5]。

人物エルトン・ジョンとバーニー・トーピン1987年に授与された「サー・エルトン・ジョン」の紋章。シールドには鍵盤とレコードが描かれている。モットーはスペイン語で el tono es bueno（音が良い）でこれは名前のエルトン(Elton)との洒落である[9]。 黒と赤と黄金の配色はワトフォードFCのチームカラーである。シールドの上にあるヘルメット（兜）が正面を向いたオープン・バイザー・ヘルメットであるのは彼がナイトの地位であることを示す。

1969年にソロ・デビュー。1970年の「僕の歌は君の歌」[1]のヒット以降コンスタントに活動を続け、現在までに全世界で3億枚以上のレコード・セールスを記録した、世界で最も成功した男性ソロ・アーティストの一人である。作曲は彼自身によるものだが、作詞は1968年のデビュー以降その多くを盟友バーニー・トーピンが手がけている[10]。
