エアバスA380（Airbus A380）は、ヨーロッパのエアバス社によって開発・製造された、ターボファンエンジンを4発装備した超大型ワイドボディ機。世界初の総2階建旅客機でもあり[注 1]、旅客機としては（旅客数）世界最大の機種である。航空機全体の中ではAn-225 ムリーヤに次いで世界第2位の大きさであったが、An-225が2022年にウクライナ軍とロシア軍の戦闘によって失われて以降は、稼働している最大の航空機となった。A380は完成披露の時点で、｢ジャンボジェット」と呼ばれた大型機のボーイング747を抜いて､乗客数の面では世界最大かつ史上最大の超大型機となった[注 2]。
概要

生産が開始されたのは2002年1月24日からであり、原型機が初飛行したのは2005年4月27日[1]。また、型式証明の取得は2006年12月であった[1]。初期の構想から初飛行まで16年の歳月を要した。初飛行から10年後の2015年末時点で、エアバスは中東や東南アジア地域を中心に300機を超える受注を獲得した。
