イル川渡河戦（イルがわとかせん、英語: Battle of the Ilu River）は、第二次世界大戦中の1942年（昭和17年）8月21日、ガダルカナル島において日本軍とアメリカ合衆国海兵隊を主力とする連合国軍との間に起きた陸上戦闘。テナルの戦い（英語: Battle of the Tenaru）[3]、アリゲーター・クリークの戦い（英語: Battle of Alligator Creek）とも呼ばれ、ガダルカナル島の戦いにおける日本軍最初の大規模反攻でもあった。

アレクサンダー・ヴァンデグリフト少将を指揮官とする米海兵隊第一海兵師団は、1942年8月7日ガダルカナル島に上陸し、ルンガ岬に日本軍が建設中であったヘンダーソン飛行場を奪取してこの防衛にあたっていた[4]。日本軍のガダルカナル島守備隊は飛行場西側のマタニカウ河に撤退して海軍本部を設置した[5][6][注 7]。日本軍上層部は第一次ソロモン海戦以降の基地航空部隊の誤認や誤報[8]、ソビエト連邦駐在武官からの情報等によりガダルカナル島奪回を極めて楽観的しており[9]、従来どおりポートモレスビー作戦を重要視していた[10]。
