『あこがれ』は、日本のシンガーソングライターである玉置浩二の2枚目のオリジナル・アルバムである。
1993年3月24日にKitty Recordsからリリースされた。前作『All I Do』（1987年）より約6年振りとなるソロアルバムであり、また安全地帯の作品を含めると『安全地帯VIII?太陽』（1991年）より約1年3ヶ月振りとなるオリジナルアルバムである。作詞は1曲を除き全曲須藤晃が担当、作曲は玉置、プロデューサーは金子章平が担当している。
レコーディングは日本国内にて行われ、ニュージーランド出身のプロデューサーであるポール・エリス（英語版）の他、キーボディストの奥慶一や清水一登、安全地帯時代から参加していたBAnaNAこと川島裕二が参加している。音楽性としては玉置が長年録り溜めていたバラード集となっており、アコースティックな音使いをメインとした精神世界を表現した内容となっている。
先行シングルとしてリリースされ、映画『ナースコール』の主題歌として使用された「コール」を収録している。
オリコンチャートでは最高位4位となった。また、本作を最後に安全地帯としてのデビュー以来在籍したKitty RecordsからSony Recordsへと移籍したため、Kitty Records在籍時の最後のアルバムとなった。 安全地帯の8枚目となるオリジナルアルバム『安全地帯VIII?太陽』（1991年）をリリースした後、同バンドは1992年にデビュー10周年を記念したライブツアー「10th Anniversary Acoustic Special Night」4月16日の川崎クラブチッタから12月26日の神奈川県立県民ホールまで敢行[2]。最終日となった神奈川県立県民ホールでの公演は「安全地帯のベスト・ライヴだった」と玉置が証言するほどの満足度となり、当日の模様を収録したライブビデオ『安全地帯アンプラグド・ライヴ!』が1993年8月25日にリリースされる事となった[3]。またこのライブツアーの最中の12月2日に安全地帯としてシングル「あの頃へ」をリリース、同曲は月桂冠「花鳥風月」のコマーシャルソングとして使用された[4][5][6]。 また1992年に玉置は単発テレビドラマに多く出演するなど俳優業も精力的に行っており、6月11日放送のフジテレビ系テレビドラマ『世にも奇妙な物語』（1990年 - ）の一話「ハイ・ヌーン」に出演した[7]他、6月26日放送のフジテレビ系テレビドラマ枠である『金曜ドラマシアター』にて『実録犯罪史シリーズ 最期のドライブ 富山長野女子高生・OL連続誘拐殺人事件』に出演[8]、12月11日放送の『金曜ドラマシアター』にて水島総が脚本を担当したテレビドラマ『フィリッピーナを愛した男たち』に出演[9]、12月28日放送の関西テレビ開局35周年記念番組として制作され、久世光彦が脚本を担当し、『キツイ奴ら』（1989年）以来の小林薫との共演となったテレビドラマ『みんな夢の中?ある偽ハマクラ伝』に出演した[10]。
