ミクスチャー・ロック（Mixture Rock）は、主に日本において扱われるロックのジャンルの一つ。

「ミクスチャー(mixture)・ロック(rock)」という言葉は和製英語である。よって、基本的に日本以外では通用しない音楽用語である。国によってはクロスオーヴァー、フュージョンとのとらえられ方もされる。
概要

ミクスチャー(mixture)・ロック(rock)という言葉は、直訳すれば「様々なジャンルの音楽を混ぜ合わせたロック」となるが、日本の音楽業界では、ラップロックやラップメタル[1]の別名として広く使われている。様々なジャンルを混ぜ合わせたという「ミクスチャー」としての意味合いは薄く、より限定された範囲を意味する「黒人音楽（ラップ、ヒップホップ、レゲエ）を混ぜ合わせたロック」として使われる。

この音楽形態を指し示すジャンル名として世界的レベルでは、ファンク・ロックやファンク・メタルといったジャンル名がある。これらが使われたバンド、リック・デリンジャー、レッド・ボーンやインエクセス(80年代デビュー）らのファンク・ロックは70年代から80年代である。音楽性で類似であっても、ミクスチャー・ロックよりも先にできたジャンル名であり、ミクスチャー・ロックとはその「時代で区別」される。（ファンク・ロックについては、ファンクを参照）

1980年代末期?1990年代以降のオルタナティヴ・ロックムーブメントの中で、「ファンクやヒップホップ（当時流行りの黒人音楽）とロック（白人中心の音楽）を混ぜた音楽性を持ったバンド」がアメリカで話題となり、それらを配給会社が日本に売り込む際に、オルタナティヴ（反主流）・ロックよりも日本人が納得しやすい言葉として、ミクスチャー（混ぜ合わせた）・ロックというジャンル名が使われた。
